Brazilian Nuggets gathers rare rock, psychedelic and MPB records made in Brazil between 1963 and 1985: garage bands, small labels, short-run singles, people who walked into a studio once and vanished.
The collection was researched and written from scratch. Every record has artist, year, label, origin and tracks; when the sources allow, the band's story too, always with the references alongside. To listen, the site only points to where the record is officially available: Spotify, Deezer, YouTube or Bandcamp.
Brazilian Nuggets grew out of another Brazilian Nuggets.
For years, the blog brnuggets.blogspot.com, created by fperacoli, unearthed and documented forgotten records from Brazilian rock and psychedelia. It was patient work, done with love, that paved much of the way this portal now follows. For me, it was both an archive and an inspiration: it shaped much of my musical taste.
This portal is dedicated to him and to my musician friends, who continue to make the sounds that someone will one day unearth.
