Flaviola e o Bando do Sol

Flávio Tadeu Rangel Lira, known as Flaviola, was a poet and singer from Recife, born in 1952, who moved through Pernambuco's psychedelic scene of the 1970s alongside Lula Côrtes, Marconi Notaro, Ave Sangria, and Alceu Valença. In 1972, he performed with Nuvem 33 at an experimental music fair in Nova Jerusalém. Recorded in 1974 for the Solar label, this album brought together Robertinho de Recife, Zé da Flauta, Paulo Raphael, and Lula Côrtes on violas, flute, mandolin, and dulcimer, and became a landmark of udigrudi, Brazil's independent underground counterculture. Only in 2020, after more than four decades, did Flaviola release a second record, Ex-tudo. He died the following year of COVID-19.
