Hair Soundtrack

Hair, the musical by James Rado and Gerome Ragni with songs by Galt MacDermot, emerged from the hippie movement and opened off-Broadway in 1967, reaching Broadway the following year. The 1969 Brazilian version was directed by Ademar Guerra and Altair Lima, who auditioned aspiring actors at Teatro Aquarius in São Paulo. Aracy Balabanian appeared in stage runs of Hair. Neusa Borges made her professional debut in a 1969 Brazilian production of the musical, won a newcomer award, and, following the production's success, signed with Polydor.
