Jaime Alem e Nair Cândia

Amanheceremos, from 1979, is the second LP by the couple Jaime Alem and Nair Cândia, five years after their debut on CID. It was released independently (MusicBrainz lists the label as Farrapos). Jaime also became involved in the movement of independent artists and producers and in the campaign for amnesty. The release was accompanied by a show in Juiz de Fora, and the duo performed on the university circuit in Minas, São Paulo, and Rio. Later, beginning in 1985, Jaime became the musical director of Maria Bethânia's shows, receiving an APCA award as an arranger in 1992, while Nair, a backing vocalist onstage for Bethânia, Elba Ramalho, and Beto Guedes, recorded with Azymuth in 1996 for the London label Far Out.
