Luli e Lucina

Luli, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1945, and Lucina, born in Cuiabá in 1950, formed a songwriting duo with more than 800 songs written together. They emerged in the early 1970s with "Flor Lilás", a finalist at the Festival Internacional da Canção. Luli also co-wrote "O Vira" and "Fala" with João Ricardo, recorded by Secos & Molhados, while Ney Matogrosso became the duo’s principal interpreter, with "Bandoleiro", "Bugre", and "Me Rói". Living on a rural property in Mangaratiba, they began producing and distributing their own albums; Amor de Mulher, also called Yorimatã, is the independent release from 1982. In the 1980s, they created the Movimento de Música Independente. The partnership ended in the 1990s, and Luli died in Nova Friburgo in 2018.
