Os Caçulas

Os Caçulas began in 1962 on the Tupi program Clube do Papai Noel and became established as a vocal quartet with Alvinho (Álvaro Damasceno), Vera Lúcia, Yara Coelho, and Gilberto Santamaria. They recorded "A chuva que cai", Antônio Marcos's version of an Italian song. Signed to RCA Victor, they recorded two LPs titled simply Os Caçulas, in 1968 and 1969; by the second, Gilberto had left to sing solo and had been replaced by Mário Marcos, Antônio Marcos's brother. That record received the Troféu Chico Viola for the track "Prá você"; another successful song by the group was "A moça do Karmann-Guia vermelho". The group ended in 1970, and Baratos Afins reissued both albums in 2003.
