Os Mugstones

Os Mugstones were a rock group formed amid the Jovem Guarda, Brazil's 1960s rock'n'roll wave, in the mid-1960s. They debuted on Polydor in April 1967 with a single led by "A grande parada", composed by Márcio Greyck and Fernando Adour, which became their greatest success and appeared on volume III of the label's compilation Os Novos Reis do Iê-Iê-Iê. The LP Os Mugstones followed that same year, with an eclectic repertoire ranging from "O sole mio" to a polka medley featuring "Asa branca", as well as a version of an Italian song about a young man who was a fan of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. In 1968, now with Continental, they recorded a final single; as the Jovem Guarda declined, the group disbanded.
