Terreno Baldio

Terreno Baldio was formed in 1973 with Roberto Lazzarini on keyboards, João Carlos Kurk on vocals and flute, Mozart Mello on guitar, João Ascenção on bass and Joaquim Correia on drums. The group performed at Ibirapuera as part of Festival do Cometa, and at Banana Progressiva alongside names such as Vímana and O Terço. After the debut LP came Além das Lendas Brasileiras in 1977, released by Continental, which commissioned its theme: tracks based on folklore and a version of Passaredo, by Francis Hime and Chico Buarque, by then with Rodolfo Braga on bass. The group disbanded in 1979 and began reuniting in 1993.
