The Jones

The Jones featured Jorge and Edson Klein Romeiro da Silva on guitars, Newton dos Santos de Oliveira on bass, and Oswaldo Magalhães Areias on drums. They began in the early 1960s, playing club dances and appearing on TV programs, and made their LP debut on the Tropicana label in 1966 with current hits. In 1967, now with Musicolor/Continental, they released two records; Music to Watch Girls Dance combines songs by Roberto Carlos with foreign pieces such as Chaplin's "This is my song." They remained with Continental for two more LPs in 1969 and contributed tracks to the As 14 pra Frente compilations through 1970.
