THE BAND
Kaoll was formed in São Paulo in 2008 as an instrumental jazz-rock band, conceived by guitarist Bruno Moscatiello around the album Kaoll 04. At the release concert for that work, the group was joined by Lanny Gordin, a guitarist associated with tropicalismo, the movement surrounding Tropicália, who played on albums such as Fa-tal, by Gal Costa, and Expresso 2222, by Gilberto Gil. This led to the sextet Kaoll & Lanny Gordin, with Dokter Leo on drums, Yuri Garfunkel on flute, Tiago Mineiro on keyboards, and Carlos Fharia on bass, which gave more than 100 performances across the country. Auto-Hipnose, released by Baratos Afins in 2010, draws on Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Hermeto Pascoal, and Som Imaginário. Lanny left the project in early 2012.
