O Bando

THE BAND

Before becoming O Bando, the São Paulo group was called Os Malucos and performed at venues such as the Urso Branco nightclub, with Marisa Fossa as lead vocalist. A tour through South America included two months in Venezuela, where they recorded sixteen television programs. Back in São Paulo, they changed their name, added a second drummer, Dudu Portes, and joined Polydor through André Midani. In 1969, they performed Longe do Tempo at the Festival Internacional da Canção and released an LP produced by Rogério Duprat, Damiano Cozzella, and Júlio Medaglia. In 1972, they took part in the show O Plug; the record was reissued by Germany's Shadoks in 2011.
