Renato e Seus Blue Caps

Renato Barros and the brothers Edson and Paulo César formed the group in the Piedade neighborhood of Rio in 1959, according to Wikipedia and MusicBrainz (Cravo Albin places it in the early 1960s). They were called Bacaninhas do Rock da Piedade until Jair de Taumaturgo suggested their current name, inspired by Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps. Edson left to pursue a career as Ed Wilson, and Erasmo Carlos briefly joined on vocals. At CBS, they played on records by Roberto Carlos, Wanderléa and Jerry Adriani. The LP Viva a Juventude! featured Menina Linda, Renato's version of the Beatles' I Should Have Known Better; the collection dates the album to 1966, while the textual sources date it to 1965.
