The brothers Kleiton and Kledir Ramil, their cousin Pery Souza, Gilnei Silveira and Quico Castro Neves had been gathering to sing in an apartment in the Petrópolis neighborhood of Porto Alegre since the early 1970s; Wikipedia identifies Pelotas as the group's city of origin. Their blend of gaúcho folklore, rock and MPB, Brazilian popular music, took shape after a concert at which they performed Lupicínio Rodrigues's Amargo. The LP Almôndegas was released by Continental in 1975, followed by Aqui that same year. In 1977 they moved to Rio, with João Baptista and Zé Flávio replacing Quico and Pery. Circo de Marionetes, from 1978, completed their discography; the band broke up in 1979.
