Bacamarte

Between the ages of 14 and 17, guitarist Mario Neto composed the songs that would give rise to Bacamarte, formed with schoolmates in 1974 at Colégio Marista São José in Rio de Janeiro. The lineup established in 1977 played on TV Globo's Rock Concert and impressed the Genesis team, which invited Mario to take Steve Hackett's place; still a minor, he declined at his parents' request. No record company wanted the demo tape until 1982, when Fluminense FM in Niterói began playing it. Mario financed his own label, produced one thousand copies and released Depois do Fim in 1983, with vocals by Jane Duboc. Sete Cidades, from 1999, is almost a solo album by him.
