Evinha

Eva Corrêa José Maria was born in Rio in 1951, into a family of singers: her siblings formed Golden Boys and Trio Esperança. She began her career in the trio in 1961, alongside Mário and Regina, recording several LPs before leaving in 1968 to pursue a solo career. The following year, at 17, she won the IV Festival Internacional da Canção with "Cantiga por Luciana" and released Eva 2001. The 1970s brought the LPs Eva, from 1970, Evinha, from 1973, and another Eva, in 1974, featuring recordings such as "Teletema" and "Que Bandeira." In 1977 she sang with Paul Mauriat’s orchestra, married pianist Gerard Gambus and moved to Paris.
