Os Brazões

Formed in Rio in late 1968, Os Brazões blended psychedelic rock and tropicalismo, Brazil's Tropicália-related movement, and served as a backing band for Gal Costa and Tom Zé: they accompanied Gal at the Sucata nightclub in April 1969 and both artists at Teatro de Bolso in May. At that year's IV Festival Internacional da Canção, they performed "Gotham City", by Jards Macalé and Capinam. Their only LP, released by RGE in 1969 and also issued in Argentina, featured Miguel de Deus and Roberto on guitars, Taco on bass, and Eduardo on drums, with songs by Gilberto Gil, Brazilian Octopus, and Liverpool. Later, Miguel de Deus moved into the soul music of Black Rio.
