Os Megatons

Os Megatons emerged in São Paulo in the early 1960s, assembled by Joe Primo, and made their LP debut on Philips in 1965 as an instrumental group, with pieces such as "Vôo do besouro" and "Infinito". The following year, the lineup changed: vocalists Bitão and Sodinha joined, and Luiz Moreschi's 12-string guitar steered the sound toward the Byrds. They accompanied Bobby di Carlo on the single "Tijolinho", a composition by Bitão that became a hit, and later backed Antonio Marcos and Marcos Roberto. They recorded singles for Mocambo-Rozenblit and Odeon and appeared on the newly established TV Bandeirantes. In 1968, while preparing a new LP, the group disbanded.
