Piri

Piry Reis, a composer, arranger and singer from Macaé, recorded the LP Vocês Querem Mate? in 1970, produced by Roberto Quartin for the label that bore his name and distributed by Tapecar. Danilo Caymmi and Paulo Jobim played flutes; Wilson das Neves was on drums and Geraldo Carneiro on piano, performing a self-written repertoire that includes "Reza brava" and "Chão vermelho". In 1975, "Cidade americana", written with Wauke, was sung by his collaborator at Globo's Festival Abertura, with Piri on acoustic guitar and the orchestra of the Municipal in São Paulo conducted by Radamés Gnattali. In the 1980s, he released Caminho do Interior and Rio Zero-Grau on Egberto Gismonti's Carmo label.
