Sidney Miller

Born in 1945 and a native of Santa Teresa, Rio, Sidney Miller emerged as a songwriter at the festivals of the 1960s. In 1965, he placed fourth at TV Excelsior with Queixa, written with Zé Keti and Paulo Thiago and sung by Cyro Monteiro; in 1967, he won the best lyrics award at Record with A Estrada e o Violeiro, which he performed alongside Nara Leão. On Elenco, he recorded his debut LP in 1967 and Brasil, do Guarani ao Guaraná in 1968, with Paulinho da Viola, Gal Costa, Nara, MPB-4 and Jards Macalé among the guests. He later turned to production and film and theater scores, released Línguas de Fogo in 1974 and died in 1980.
