Zé Rodrix

José Rodrigues Trindade, known as Zé Rodrix, was born in Rio in 1947. While still attending Colégio de Aplicação, he formed Momento Quatro, which took the TV Record stage in 1967 with Edu Lobo and Marília Medalha for the winning performance of Ponteio. In 1970 he helped form Som Imaginário, the group that accompanied Milton Nascimento, and left in 1971, the year Casa no Campo won the festival in Juiz de Fora. The song, written with Tavito, was turned into a hit by Elis Regina. He then formed the trio Sá, Rodrix e Guarabyra, leaving it in 1973 after the LP Terra to make his solo debut with I Acto on Odeon. He died in São Paulo in 2009.
