Casa das Máquinas

The group emerged in São Paulo from a split in Os Incríveis: drummer Netinho left the Jovem Guarda lineup—part of Brazil’s 1960s rock’n’roll wave—and assembled new musicians, who initially toured the country as Os Novos Incríveis, playing songs by Neil Sedaka, Paul Anka and Elvis Presley. When his former colleagues reclaimed the name, the new group became Casa das Máquinas and signed with Som Livre. Its 1974 debut moved between ballads and hard rock. Lar de Maravilhas followed in 1975 after lineup changes and shifted toward progressive rock; Casa de Rock (1976) simplified the sound. The band stopped in 1978, returned to the stage in late 2007 and released Brilho nos Olhos in 2022.
