Célia

Célia Regina Cruz was born in São Paulo on September 8, 1947. She studied guitar, harmony, theory and composition and gained prominence in 1970 on Um Instante, Maestro!, Flávio Cavalcanti's television program. Her first LP, Célia, was released by Continental with songs by Joyce, Nelson Ângelo, Ivan Lins and Lô Borges and arrangements by Arthur Verocai; the English-language Wikipedia dates the album to 1970, while Cravo Albin gives 1971. Another LP with the same title followed in 1972. Her greatest success was Onde Estão os Tamborins?, released as a single in 1975. She performed in Itália, França and América Latina and died in São Paulo on September 29, 2017.
