Lô Borges

Salomão Borges Filho, known as Lô, was born in Belo Horizonte in 1952 into a large family in which many of his siblings became musicians. The circle that gathered on a street corner in the Santa Tereza neighborhood gave rise to Clube da Esquina, a Minas Gerais musical collective, and in 1972 he shared the album of the same name with Milton Nascimento, contributing eight tracks written by him with collaborators. Riding that momentum, Odeon offered him a solo project: the LP Lô Borges, nicknamed disco do tênis after its cover photograph, with Beto Guedes among the guests. He then disappeared from view for several years, returned in 1978 on Clube da Esquina 2, and continued composing until his death in 2025.
