Wanderléa

Wanderléa Charlup Boere Salim, the daughter of Lebanese parents, was born in Governador Valadares, spent her childhood in Lavras, and arrived with her family in Ilha do Governador, in Rio, in the mid-1950s. As a child, she sang on radio programs such as Mayrink Veiga's Clube do Guri. She made her recording debut in 1962 and released her first LP the following year through CBS, where she met Roberto Carlos. Beginning in 1965, she hosted the program Jovem Guarda, the showcase for Brazil's 1960s rock'n'roll wave, with him and Erasmo Carlos on TV Record's Sunday afternoons, and the success of "Ternura" earned her the nickname Ternurinha. She appeared in Juventude e Ternura (1968), acted alongside Roberto and Erasmo in a Roberto Farias film, and continued her career as a pop singer.
