Made in Brazil

Brothers Oswaldo and Celso Vecchione formed the band in the Pompeia neighborhood of São Paulo in the late 1960s, taking the Rolling Stones' rhythm and blues as their model. By 1969, they were already painting their faces and bodies for performances. Their recording debut came in 1974 on RCA Victor: the LP Made in Brazil, nicknamed disco da banana because of its cover illustration, with Cornélius Lúcifer on vocals and their first hit, Anjo da Guarda. It was followed by Jack, o Estripador, featuring Percy Weiss on vocals and production by Ezequiel Neves, and Paulicéia Desvairada in 1978. Massacre, recorded in 1977, was blocked by the censors and released only in 2005.
