Moto Perpétuo

A progressive rock band from São Paulo that introduced Guilherme Arantes. He met drummer Diógenes Burani in 1970 during a play at Teatro Ruth Escobar, and Cláudio Lucci while studying architecture at USP; Diógenes recommended Gerson Tatini and Egídio Conde, whom he had met through Cilibrinas do Éden, the project by Rita Lee and Lucinha Turnbull. Journalist Moracy do Val began promoting the group. Its only LP was recorded at the Sonima studio in São Paulo in 1974. The band broke up months later, as Arantes wanted to move away from progressive rock. The album was reissued several times, and in 2024 Arantes, Lucci and Tatini performed together again to mark its 50th anniversary.
