Pão com Manteiga

A São Paulo group devoted to progressive rock and experimental music, Pão com Manteiga formed in 1976 with Paulo Som, Johnny, Pierre, Gilberto, and Edison, who shared vocals, viola, guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboards, banjo, drums, and effects. The group left a single self-titled LP, released that same year: a concept album that explores the fantastical world of Avalon and criticizes modern society. The group recorded nothing else; decades later, it emerged from obscurity when researcher Bento Araújo included it in the second volume of the book Lindo Sonho Delirante, devoted to audacious Brazilian records from 1976 to 1985.
